Position Overview:

As a KS1 SEN Teacher, you will be responsible for creating an inclusive and nurturing learning environment for students with Special Educational Needs in Key Stage 1. Your primary goal will be to deliver tailored lessons that cater to the unique learning styles and abilities of each student, helping them make progress and achieve their individual learning goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver engaging lessons that align with the National Curriculum, adapted to meet the needs of SEN students in KS1.

Use a range of teaching strategies and resources to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.

Monitor and assess students’ progress regularly, providing constructive feedback and support to help them overcome challenges.

Collaborate with the SEN coordinator, parents, and support staff to develop Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for SEN students.

Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment where every student feels valued, respected, and safe.

Work closely with other teachers and support staff to promote a cohesive and supportive learning environment throughout the school.

Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance your knowledge and skills in SEN teaching.

Contribute to school-wide activities, events, and initiatives as an active member of the school community.

Requirements:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.

Experience working with students with Special Educational Needs, particularly in Key Stage 1.

A deep understanding of various SEN needs and strategies to support students effectively.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with students, parents, and colleagues.

Dedication to creating an inclusive learning environment that fosters growth and confidence.

Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage individualised learning plans effectively.

Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) clearance or willingness to obtain one.
