Part-Time Learning Support Assistant – Waltham Forest

JDS Recruitment are currently recruiting for four part-time Learning Support Assistants on behalf of a vocational training and apprenticeship provision for 14- 19 years olds based in Waltham Forest.
You must be available to commit to 2-3 days a week on an ad hoc basis to be considered for this position.
This provision supports learners who have a key interest within the creative industries, namely Gaming, Music, Drama and Media.
The learners have variety of needs including social emotional and mental health difficulties, autism, comprehension delay, challenging behaviour, dyslexia, and additional learning difficulties.
This role will be on a part-time basis and will commence immediately (during term time only!)
The hours are 9am – 4pm, with a 5pm finish on either Tuesdays or Thursdays.
To be considered for this role you will need to have Maths and English at GSCE grade C and above or be educated to degree level or have extensive experience supporting SEND students.
Person specification:
- Have a personality!
- Be confident with a strong background or have a key interest in the creative industries.
- Have an interest in the creative industries such as drama, fashion, music, gaming, music production etc.
- Have excellent timekeeping.
- Ables to use own initiative.
- Able to commit to at least 2-3 days a week on an ad hoc basis.
- 100% attendance
- Great interest in making a difference.
- Act as a great role model for the learners.
- Passion for supporting children with SEND including SEMH and Dyslexia.
This role will be to start immediately subject to clear enhanced DBS and referencing checks.
